From Above

This week’s photo challenge, From Above, came to me in a poignant moment yesterday. We were at a full military honors funeral for a wonderful old gentleman who had passed away last week. While he didn’t have children of his own, he has left a legacy behind in the lives he’s touched as an honorable man. His little namesake and my Godson was presented with his American flag. It was a very special moment for this lil’ man and there were very few dry eyes.

    This is a beautiful post. Having recently experienced my father’s passing and having my mom presented with a flag for his Navy service, I understand the emotion surrounding such an event. You captured it well. Thank you.

    The photo you chose has layers and layers of significance for many people who would view it. More so for the young man on the picture, I’m sure. So much has happened in our lives. We will never be the same again.
