WordPress Weekly Photo Challenge

This challenge stumped me. Seriously. Not that it should have been that difficult: Childhood home? Current home? Literal? Figurative? Like I said, stumped, and no particular picture was jumping out of my files screaming, “Pick me.” But then I remembered a little poem my youngest son had written in the 5th or 6th grade that was actually published in a student periodical. As I re-read it for the first time in eleven years, the simplistic perceptions of my little boy’s heart were actually quite full of wisdom about what makes a HOME.

There’s a place where peace is found
Where family is always homeward bound
Where the sun is always shining bright
Reflecting colors of crimson light
In this place anger grows slow
While happiness shines as a radiant glow
Where the fall leaves always float high
As their colors perfect the shining sky
Some have never found this place
Where hate hides without a trace
Where music plays and aroma is sweet
And dinner is better than potatoes and meat
Home is where you make it they say
Where the adults serve as the kids play
Where the house is clean and the pets can roam
But FAMILY is what makes your home sweet home
(written by Regan Pickrel, age 11)

So I am breaking the rules again, sorry, seems to be a habit…I didn’t take the pictures, I just stuck them together in my photoshop program.
