Beautiful Rust
Bringing some of the outdoors in through the use of organic elements can add a serene beauty to a space.
While rust is a curse in many situations (causing weakness in metal structures, eroding car bodies), rust is both texturally and visually appealing and is finding its way into the design and decor world with more frequency; interior and exterior finishes, furniture and accessories, faux finishes, paint and tile to name a few.
Here are a few lovely examples.
What natural elements inspire you?

[…] full disclosure: I absolutely, positively, unequivocally stole this theme from Woven Decor! Imitation is the ultimate form of flattery, […]
🙂
I also agree. Something weirdly seductive and beautiful about the transformation of colors and textures that happens with corrosion. Plus, there’s everything else in the vicinity, all the bordering colors and textures. Great blog Becky…loved it.
The difference between one who is a writer and one who reposts pictures: you captured in one comment what I hoped to in several photos. Oh to be a writer. Thanks for the encouragement 🙂
I too am a fan of rust. I have some photos that you might like… taken in Nantucket… 😉
I agree – beautiful.
🙂 thanks.
I don’t know, we see so much destructive rust on our vehicles in this country I don’t think I’d see the beauty of it – although that doorknob looks very interesting.
I understand; kind of like me seeing no beauty in a snake except if it were made into a pair of boots 🙂
Yup, no beauty in snakes!
Love this theme! I have those spiral balls in my garden. I may have to steel this theme soon. 😉
I LOVE those spiral thingies.
